Stony Brook Children’s Hospital 3rd Annual Prom was held for teen patients of our hospital and their guests. Our Youth Advisory Council (YAC) was involved in the planning of this event and selected the theme, New York, New York, games, activities, music and menu items. The event brings the traditional prom experience for these patients who might have been unable to attend their own prom due to hospitalization or who, due to life-limiting illness, may never get the opportunity. It’s a night they don’t have to worry about being in the hospital, having tests and procedures, or their diagnoses. (6/9/18)
